5.1.1 Identity registration is the process by which a client registers a pseudonym, or registers their real-world identity to a desired level of assurance. This may include presentation of evidence by the client as proof of their real-world identity, and checks to ensure that the evidence provided is authentic, valid and belongs to the client. The real-world identity of a client need only be established if this is essential to support the service(s) to be provided.
