A.2.75 Non-repudiation encompasses accountability (ie the extent to which the issuer of an instruction can be held to account for that instruction), providence (ie the extent to which users who are in receipt of information can act on that information) and evidence of receipt. Some elements of non-repudiation, particularly accountability and evidence of receipt, may need to be supported by services such as record management and time-stamping in some cases.
