10.6.1 Availability for the service must be compatible with the assessment of the business need. Uptime requirements wil vary depending on the service to be provided, but indicative availability requirements would general y be expected to be better than 99% uptime with no unplanned service break of more than 20 minutes and no more than 1 unplanned service break in any 24 hour period. 10.6.2 Careful consideration must be given to sizing of the communications and information systems so as not to compromise availability. The sizing must be based on realistic estimates of demand for the service.
